Slovakia stays in the A-division

Slovakia took control of the game about 7th place several times but Poland showed great fighting spirit.

Poland scored to 5-5 in the beginning of the third period but Slovakia replicated with three goals in two minutes by Michal Dudovic, Michal Miske and Ronald Gasparik.

– The game was different then the matches in the group. We tried some counterattacks and it was really good. It´s hard to find some words for it, I´m really happy, says Slovakian player Michal Miske.

When Erik Moravcik scored 9-5 with five minutes left, everyone thought the match was over.

But not Poland. With Rafal Zacher (16.15), Jakub Korczak (17.44) and Wojciech Malajka (18.17) scoring it was a dramatic end of the game.

Slovakia won, 9-8, and is still in the A-division.

– It´s important for the next generation but I am a little bit ashamed over the loss against Denmark. It was a really bad day for us, says Michal Miske.
